In rural Gujarat, local villagers believe that certain trees have spirits that can help alleviate ill-health. This one was chosen as the go-to tree which helps heal ailments 0r problems with arms and legs. A small wooden arm, hand , leg or foot is tied around the tree and little offerings are made by the devotees to ask the tree spirit to restore that part of the body back to health.
