Susa- Tomb of Prophet Daniel , Iran

Susa was an ancient city of the Proto-Elamite, Elamite, First Persian Empire, Seleucid, and Parthian empires of Iran, and one of the most important cities of the Ancient Near East.

Although there are many contenders for the site believed to be where the Prophet Daniel  was buried,  Susa  is the most favoured traditional burial place of the Biblical and Islamic  prophet Daniel. It is widely believed by  both  Jews and Muslims that the site of his tomb is in Susa. The current tomb was renovated and repaired in 1870 CE.
