Marshall’s car at Mohenjo-Daro, Pakistan

The ruins of the Mohenjo-daro remained undiscovered for around 3,700 years until  R.D.Banerji an officer of the Archaeological Society of India  visited the site in 1919–20 . This led to large-scale excavations of Mohenjo-daro led by  renowned archaeologists K.N. Dikshit in 1924-25 and John Marshall the following year. John Marshall’s car , the desk and  the cutlery he used during his time in Mohenjo-Daro are still preserved in an outbuilding on the site.
